Children’s Ministries strives to make your child’s time at Memorial Park the singular best hour of the week. Our mission is to come alongside parents as the primary spiritual influencers of their children, helping them love people, know Jesus, and live transformed. Our programs are held each week on Sunday mornings during the 9:00 AM Worship Service and is a time of Christ-centered, child-targeted learning for kids of all ages from birth through grade 5. Additional programming is offered for children from birth to grade 5 during the 10:10 AM Discipleship Hour, and for children from birth to Kindergarten during the 11:15 AM Worship Service. We utilize the TRU curriculum by David C. Cook to develop a TRU relationship with Jesus Christ:

  • Transformational: Our outstanding team of volunteers creatively and relevantly communicates The Big God Story in a caring, safe, and fun atmosphere each week
  • Relational: We seek to build friendships among the kids, leaders, and parents through outreach opportunities and activities throughout the year
  • Unstoppable: Kids are not too young to make a difference! We provide opportunities for kids to lovingly serve their neighbors near and far

Using the TRU Kids curriculum, we provide a fun, safe environment for your child each week through upbeat music, exciting stories, community prayer, and engaging, age-appropriate activities. Our time begins with large group Bible teaching time (The Big God Story), followed by various connecting activities.

Nursery: Newborn-24 months
Our comfort room and nursery are available on Sunday mornings to provide safe, loving, fun, and comfortable environments for both you and your child. The Nursery is located to the right of the Sanctuary.

TRU Blessings: 2 & 3 Year-Olds
Our 2 & 3 Year-Old class is held in the Woodlands in the Children's Ministries wing. Through sensory interaction, storytelling, joyful worship, and quarterly celebrations, your young one will learn the fundamental truth that God made them, loves them, and is with them.

TRU Wonder: 4 & 5 Year-Olds/Kindergarten
Our 4 & 5 Year-Old/Kindergarten classes are held in the Savanna in the Children's Ministries wing. Through exciting exploration, interactive storytelling, purposeful response time, and connecting through games and crafts, your child will experience the wonder of who God is!

TRU Story: 1st - 5th Graders
Our 1st & 2nd Grade class is held in the Mountains, and our 3rd - 5th Grade class is held in the Rec Room, both located in the Children's Ministries Wing. Engaging worship, impactful teaching, and interactive response activities make TRU Story a place where your kids learn about God's redemptive plan revealed through The Big God Story.

Our Student IMPACT teen programs are designed to support students as they journey through life during the challenging years of middle and high school. We impact their lives with the message of the Gospel, help it to take root and grow so they can make an impact on the world around them. The mission of Student IMPACT is to walk beside and to support and partner with parents in their role as the primary spiritual nurturer in the life of their student.

Students in grades 6-8 and 9-12 have a variety of opportunities to get involved in Student IMPACT. Our weekly Sunday morning classes (including Confirmation class for high school students), Sunday evening youth group gatherings, and Wednesday evening small group studies offer ways to build meaningful personal and spiritual relationships, as well as provide students with a platform to examine their faith, and make the decision to follow Jesus. We also offer retreats and mission trip opportunities that allow students to dive deeper into their faith.

Middle School & High School
Students meet on Sunday mornings at the 10:10 AM hour. This dedicated time is an opportunity for students to learn and grow in their faith through Bible teaching, discussion, and prayer support. Although this is a classroom format, there is no homework requirement and students can join the class at any time. The Middle School program is led by Marissa Kotanichek, our Middle School Coordinator. The High School class is led by Levi Cole, our High School Coordinator.

Confirmation Class
Our Confirmation Class is open to students in grades 9-12 who are interested in pursuing membership at Memorial Park Church. This class is led by our Director of Family Ministries, Ryan Pietryga. The Confirmation Class covers important topics such as Biblical history, the core beliefs of Christianity, and church membership. This class is held on Sunday mornings at the 10:10 AM hour, running concurrently with Middle and High School Sunday morning classes.

Memorial Park Church places a high value on spiritual growth. Our desire is to meet people where they are in their faith development and to engage them in an intentional discipleship ministry that is both inwardly strong and outwardly focused, moving them to greater maturity in their relationship with Christ. Our Sunday morning Adult Classes run during the 10:10 AM Discipleship Hour. These classes typically run in sessions of anywhere form 6 to 8 weeks. We have a variety of classes to choose from each session.

Boundaries
Instructor: Barb Kowalski
Class begins March 5, runs for 8 weeks
How does a Christian serve others yet set healthy, loving boundaries, especially when we know that to follow God’s will means to love and serve others? It is in our best interest to look out for others, yet we are not good with people until we are good with ourselves.  Did you know that God desires us to have boundaries? So how do we balance what we know is true in the Bible about serving, yet also be able to build boundaries so we stay healthy? Come join us in class as we explore what it means to build God-directed healthy boundaries so that we will be able to use them to achieve the relationships and purposes that God intends for us.
Materials for this class taken from “Boundaries” by Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend. Books will be provided for you for class.

Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family
Instructors: Carly Taylor and John Gourley
(This class is a continuation of Session 3)
Are my kids getting enough vegetables? Do they do enough activities? Have I read enough Bible stories to them? Memorized enough scripture with them? Do they do enough with the Youth Group? Am I a good parent? Am I raising a good kid? If you’re anything like us, you question and second guess every move you make as a parent. But what if parenting isn’t about checking all of the right boxes in order to raise a good kid? What if parenting is about the relentless and rescuing grace of God? Join us in this class, as we allow Christ to free us from the burden we place on ourselves, and live into the fullness of the Gospel as Parents. Whether you are a Parent, Grandparent, God Parent, or Prospective Parent, all are welcome to join this class as we read and discuss Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family by Paul David Tripp.
The book is available through Amazon or Christianbooks.com

The Sermon on the Mount
Instructor: John & Rhea Christopher
Class continues March 5
A Study of the Sermon on the Mount: “The Followers of Jesus are to be different,” writes John Stott, “different from both the nominal church and the secular world, different from both the religious and the irreligious.  The Sermon on the Mount is the most complete delineation anywhere in the New Testament of the Christian counter-culture.  Here is a Christian value system, ethical standard, religious devotion, attitude to money, ambition, lifestyle, and network of relationships – all of which are totally at variance with those in the non-Christian world.  And this Christian counter-culture is the life of the kingdom of God, a fully human life indeed but lived out under the divine rule.”
Our class will investigate the message of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7 to see how it relates to life today in our modern world.

Pugliese Class: Effective Discipleship While Persevering in Faith
Instructor: Pete Pugliese
Class continues March 5
More than ever, effective discipleship while persevering in faith is essential to the health of anyone who proclaims to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Our time in His word is what helps prepare us to take on the challenges before us. The world is in need of the gospel. The hope that it offers is life giving. Are we ready to take this message into the world? We must live into the gospel if we are going to be voices for the gospel.
Class will continue on the journey through the books of Thessalonians.
Women to Women
Begins January 11
9:30-11:30 AM
Meets Every Wednesday
Westminster Hall
Our Wednesday morning studies are a great place to get to know other ladies in our church family, and to be encouraged and challenged by God’s word. Join us for “Connections Time” before study during which we share a light breakfast and devotional/prayer time together. We also use this time to worship in the sanctuary once a month before our Bible study begins. We then split into study groups at 10:00 AM and spend our time deepening our faith through Scripture study and discussion. Free childcare is available—please indicate that you are needing childcare when you register for class.

Our classes normally run from January through May, but this year, our session will be broken into two parts: the first half of the session we will offer two classes; the second half of the session we will offer one class.

Jesus in the Old Testament
Facilitated by Pastor Betsy Rumer
In this class, we will explore how the Old Testament points to Jesus' birth, life, death, and resurrection.

Prayer by Timothy Keller
Facilitated by Michele Holmes
Christians are taught in their churches and schools that prayer is the most powerful way to experience God. But few receive instruction or guidance in how to make prayer genuinely meaningful. In Prayer, Pastor Keller delves into the many facts of this everyday act. Class will include discussion on the book and time praying together each week.

Class for March 8-May 10
The Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer

All day, every day, an invisible war rages around you. A cunning, devilish enemy seeks to wreak havoc on everything that matters to you—your emotions, your mind, your family, and your future. But his reign stops right here, right now, with you. This study provides an action plan for putting on your armor and developing a personalized strategy to secure victory against the enemy. This study has been one of the most requested studies at Memorial Park and is one of Michele's personal favorites because of its power. Re|Engage is a 16-week marriage enrichment program that examines God's design for marriage and applies principles from the Bible to guide couples towards growth in their relationship with each other. Marriages in any condition can benefit, whether you are struggling to get along, your marriage is broken, or you simply want to grow closer together as a couple. This program generally begins in January.

There are two components to Re|Engage: large group and small group participation. Each evening begins in a large group setting, during which time you'll hear couples publicly share their marriage story, and class leaders teaching principles for marriage growth. This typically lasts anywhere from 30-45 minutes.

During the second portion of the class, couples move into small groups. Small group consists of 4-5 participating couples who will walk through the 16-lesson Re|Engage curriculum together. Closed Groups are formed when there are enough couples ready to join a Closed Group, and a facilitator couple is available. This group generally meets from 75-90 minutes.

Our next session of Re|Engage will begin on January 18, 2023.

Leading up to the start of the class, we will host one preview night on January 11. Before starting Re|Engage, you are required to attend the preview night. Preview Night is a chance to learn about Re|Engage, the curriculum, the program, and the expectations, as well a time to ask questions. These nights are essential to understanding the format of the program and what it offers.
